Australian police have arrested a gang of 44 people who are suspected of creating and storing child abuse materials. It is reported by BBC News.
It is noted that the arrests were the result of an investigation of the images and videos that appeared on the Internet. As a result, police said 16 children across the country had been rescued. The suspects of all ages worked in construction, law enforcement and the hotel industry.
The suspects used the cloud storage platform to share bullying material. The police filed a total of 350 charges, and more than 100 law enforcement officers were involved in the operation to uncover the criminal network.
In January 2020, a multi-country pedophile trial was held in Australia. 53-year-old Boris Kunsevitsky was found guilty of 59 crimes: in particular, the distribution and production of child pornography and the rape of minors. The pedophile was put in prison for 35 years.
