Police in the United States strangled a man with his knee again and brought him to death

by alex

A California resident died after being strangled with a knee by police. The Los Angeles Times reported this with reference to the family of the deceased.

The incident took place on December 23 in the city of Antioch, California. The family of 30-year-old Angelo Quinto called the police when the man was paranoid. By the time the police arrived, the man was in his mother's arms and had already begun to calm down. However, one of the officers knocked Quinto to the floor and pressed his knee on his neck for five minutes, until he knocked him unconscious.

When the man was turned onto his back, his face was covered in blood. Quinto died three days later in the hospital without regaining consciousness. His family filed a lawsuit against the police, accusing them of violent death.

Quinto was born in the Philippines. He served in the United States Navy, but was honorably sent to the reserve in 2019 due to allergies. According to the family, Quinto suffered from depression for most of his life. His condition worsened dramatically after being attacked by unknown assailants in 2020. He woke up in the hospital with serious injuries, but did not remember what happened to him. After that, he began to experience private bouts of paranoia and anxiety.

In the United States in May last year, rallies began for the rights of blacks under the slogan Black Lives Matter (“Black lives are important”). The reason was a number of high-profile deaths, including the African American George Floyd, who died as a result of a brutal arrest: the man was strangled with his knee at the time of police arrest. Soon the actions of the police became the cause of mass pogroms throughout the country. The protesters claimed unfair treatment of blacks.
