In Poland, a national lockdown is being introduced due to the worsening situation with the spread of coronavirus, Health Minister Adam Nedzielski said, TVN24 reports.
The restrictions will be introduced from March 20 and will last until April 9. Shopping centers, cinemas, theaters, galleries and other entertainment venues, as well as swimming pools and saunas will be closed.
Elementary students will switch to distance learning.
The minister said that the main reason for the acceleration of the spread of coronavirus in the country is the “British” strain, it is detected in more than half of the cases (52%).
“We no longer have the ability to impose restrictions at the regional level. The only solution is to extend these restrictions to the whole of Poland, ”Nedzielski said.
