The ban is planned to be introduced from June 4.
Poland plans to ban access to the border zone with neighboring Belarus for three months – from June 4. The reason is migration pressure.
This is stated in the draft resolution of the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs.
So, in a number of areas of the Podlasie Voivodeship they want to ban entry into the border zone for 90 days. The Ministry explains this decision by the fact that these Belarusian government services are actively involved in attacks on their soldiers, police and border guards.
The Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs also believes that these measures ensure the safety of Polish border guards and “will limit the presence of unauthorized persons in the area of official operations.”
Recall that Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Poland is pouring “all its resources” onto the border with Belarus. This is due to an attack by migrants on a border guard May 28. He was wounded by a migrant trying to break through the barrier on the border with Belarus. The wounded man is in serious condition.
