On the night of Sunday, June 29, Russia launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine, using ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as attack drones. As a result, military aircraft were scrambled into the skies in Poland.
This was reported by 24 Kanal , citing the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces. All available air defense forces and assets were deployed.
Poland raised military aviation
The operation of Polish and allied aviation in the country's airspace began in connection with Russia's combined night attack on Ukrainian territory.
In accordance with the current procedures, the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces activated all available forces and means – more pairs of fighters were raised into the air, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were brought to the highest state of readiness.
The measures taken are aimed at ensuring protection in territories bordering the threatened areas, the report says.
Let us recall that the Lviv region was attacked by X-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS aircraft, as well as attack drones. Explosions and the work of air defense were heard by residents of Lviv, Drohobych and other settlements. Preliminary, there were no victims or injured, the occupiers hit critical infrastructure.
