Poland received consent to buy Abrams tanks from the United States

The US State Department has agreed to the sale of 250 Abrams M1A2 SEPv3 tanks to Poland.

Poland received the consent of the State Department to purchase 250 Abrams tanks from the United States. This was announced in his Twitter account by the Minister of Defense of the Republic Mariusz Blaszczak.

“Very important news for the security of Poland. The State Department approved the sale of 250 Abrams tanks in the most modern version of the M1A2 SEPv3. This is an extremely important strengthening of our defense capability and one of the most important arms contracts in the history of Poland,” the head of the Defense Ministry wrote.

Earlier, eight US Air Force F-15 fighters arrived in Poland as part of the NATOAirPolicing mission. Now the total NATO fighter air contingent in the country is 23 units. The NATOAirPolicing mission is designed to ensure the security of the airspace of the alliance members.
