The Polish diplomat stressed that Hungary has recently been pursuing anti-European, anti-Ukrainian and anti-Polish policies.
Poland has questioned the advisability of Hungary's membership in the EU and NATO after statements by the country's Prime Minister Viktor Orban criticizing these organizations.
Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Teofil Bartoszewski proposed to the Hungarian Prime Minister to create an alliance with Putin, the RAP agency reports.
The Polish diplomat emphasized that Hungary has recently been pursuing an anti-European, anti-Ukrainian and anti-Polish policy.
He emphasized that, unlike Hungary, his country does not do business with Russia after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, “since this [the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine] was an attack on both Poland and the United States, the European Union and NATO.”
“I don't really understand why Hungary wants to remain a member of organizations that they don't like so much and that allegedly treat them badly. Why shouldn't he [Orban] form an alliance with Putin and some authoritarian states of this type?.. If you don't want to be a member of some club, you can always leave,” said Teofil Bartoszewski
At the same time, he recalled that Hungary is blocking 2 billion zlotys (467 million euros) from the European Peace Fund, assigned to Poland by the EU to compensate for military equipment received by Ukraine.
Recall that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban recently stated that Ukraine will not become a member of NATO or the EU because “we Europeans will not have enough money.”
