Poland will consider transferring MiGs to Ukraine after receiving new aircraft from NATO.

Poland may consider providing Ukraine with Soviet MiG fighters.

This was stated by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk at a joint press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.

“We cannot hand over the MiGs today because they perform the function of protecting the skies of NATO. But if somehow they can be replaced, if I can convince our NATO partners of this. Ukraine is in a worse situation, than Poland, but we are next. We are careful to say that we can do it,” Tusk said.

The Polish Prime Minister noted that MiGs would be very useful to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, because they are easy to maintain in Ukraine. He assured that as soon as NATO allies give Poland other aircraft instead of the MiG, he will convince Polish politicians and military officers to implement the transfer decision as quickly as possible.

Recall that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, during a visit to Warsaw, signed an agreement on security cooperation with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

In addition, Zelensky said that a mechanism is being developed for Poland to shoot down Russian missiles and UAVs in Ukrainian airspace launched in the direction of Poland.
