“Due to the attack of the Russian Federation on facilities located, among other things, in western Ukraine, military aviation has begun to operate in our airspace. According to the current procedure, the operational commander of the Armed Forces has activated all available forces and means, combat pairs have been activated on duty, and ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems have been put on the highest state of readiness,” the statement reads.
The Armed Forces Command added that these measures are aimed at ensuring security in areas adjacent to threatening territories.
“The operational command of the Armed Forces is in control of the situation, and the subordinate forces and assets remain in full readiness for immediate response,” the department summarized.
Recall that in the early morning of January 15, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine. A large-scale air raid alarm was declared and explosions were heard in several regions.
