Such a decision should stop the uncontrolled flow of illegal immigrants from Belarus.

The President Poland Andrzej Duda signed a special law on the construction of a fence on the state border, which is also the external border of the EU with Belarus.

This was reported by the Office of the President of Poland.

“On November 2, 2021, the President Andrzej Duda signed the law of October 29 on the construction of a fence on the state border, “the statement says.

This decision was supported by both chambers of the Polish parliament last week. It will enter into force the next day after its publication in the Polish Journal of Laws.

The law provides for the construction of a modern high fence equipped with video monitoring and motion detection systems. Its cost is more than $ 400 million. The implementation of the project will take place outside of tender procedures in an accelerated mode.

According to the testimony of the Speaker of the Government of the Republic of Poland, Peter Müller, the work will begin in a few weeks. The term for the construction of the fence is several months.

Poland made such a decision after Latvia and Lithuania, which have already begun to strengthen their border. It is connected with the uncontrolled flow of migrants from Belarus.

Recall that the construction of a fence on the Polish-Belarusian border was announced back in August. Then Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland accused the Belarusian authorities of organizing an uncontrolled flow of illegal immigrants to the European Union. By design, the fence on the external border of the EU should reduce this amount.
