Poland has begun preparations for a massive influx of Ukrainian refugees due to a possible Russian “invasion” of Ukraine. It is reported by Onet Warszawa.
The Polish government has mobilized local authorities to draw up lists of possible facilities for setting up accommodation centers for refugees. It is proposed to pay special attention to boarding houses, recreation and training centers, hostels, hostels, hotels and various types of halls: entertainment, exhibition and sports.
“The priority is to indicate places that can be ready to receive refugees in less than 48 hours,” said Konstantin Radziwiłł, head of the Masovian Voivodeship.
On February 8, French Interior Minister Darmanin said that in the event of a Ukrainian-Russian conflict, a wave of “tens or even hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian refugees” would flood into Europe. He noted that de-escalation in Ukraine could help prevent the migration crisis.
