The lawyer believes that the most that European countries can do is to limit government services or social assistance.
In the Ministries of Defense Lithuania and Poland have announced their readiness to expel men of military age to Ukraine, but there will be no mass expulsions, according to the protocol of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Lawyer Roman Edelev, associate professor of the department of international law at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kiev, said this in a comment to hromadske.
“Some idea immediately appears about deportation, that Ukrainian men in Poland or Lithuania will be seized and taken to the border, handed over to border guards or someone else. This will not happen. The European Convention on Human Rights has an additional protocol that prohibits mass expulsions of foreigners,” – assured the lawyer.
He recalled that in 2006-2007 Russia expelled Georgian citizens en masse and the court found violations in such actions of the Russian Federation.

“That is, if a person is declared unfit and removed from the military register, Poland or Lithuania cannot evaluate whether this is a real document, or whether the person actually passed the VLC. This is not powers of the authorities of Poland and Lithuania. All this will be extremely difficult to write out. But if there is political will, we can see some attempts,” the lawyer believes.
