Russian Ambassador to Cape Verde Natalya Poklonskaya called the decision on the refusal of the Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol to declare her on the international wanted list reasonable. The diplomat's commentary was conveyed to RBC in its Telegram channel.

“At least one reasonable decision. Political persecution is prohibited by the statute of this international criminal organization. I am being persecuted for political reasons, ”Poklonskaya said.

On December 15, the Ukrainian Bureau of Interpol refused to declare her on the international wanted list, although before that the Kiev Court of Appeal had called for the arrest of “the so-called prosecutor of the annexed Crimea.”

The extradition of the former Crimean prosecutor Poklonskaya from Cape Verde was promised by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba. In Kiev, the diplomat is accused of complicity in an attempt to seize power, violation of the laws and customs of war, as well as war crimes and treason. In response to this, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, recalled that it would not be possible to extradite Poklonskaya, since she has diplomatic immunity.
