Fico acknowledged that people can do whatever they want with their money, but added that the United States has approved $60 billion in aid to Ukraine, and the European Union has also approved tens of billions of euros.
“Nothing will change in Ukraine, and in a year or two it will be the same. All the money will be spent, perhaps some will be stolen, but nothing will change in Ukraine, and we will be where we are,” he said. < /p>
Fico also advised his fellow citizens to raise funds for cancer patients, and not for bullets and bombs.
For the collection of ammunition for Ukraine, Fico sees only a huge effort to create “some counterbalance to the government,” because the Slovak government refuses to supply weapons to Ukraine.
“But we really help Ukraine,” said Fico.
He recalled several agreements in the economic and humanitarian fields between Slovakia and Ukraine.
“Prime Minister Fico insulted all supporters of the initiative, especially 99-year-old Otto Simko,” the initiative responded to the comparison of the collection with a “fart.”
Slovakia also added that they perceive this as a “poisonous message to the Czech side,” which is even worse, since Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Defense Minister Jana Cernochová expressed strong and clear support for the initiative.
“Our main goal was the symbolic accession of Slovakia to the Czech initiative, which was achieved. We showed that Slovakia is neither cowardly nor ungrateful, and if not the government, then civil society can make it clear that it knows where the north is,” the initiative added.
As of the evening of April 29, the Slovaks had almost reached 4 million. Only 500 euros were missing.
Recall that several NATO allies have made statements about the supply of more air defense systems and other military equipment to Ukraine.
