American mixed martial artist (MMA) Dustin Poirier commented on his victory over Irish Conor McGregor at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tournament in Abu Dhabi. The post is available on the athlete's Instagram account.
Poirier, 32, described himself as “the uncrowned UFC lightweight champion.” It was with this signature that he accompanied the photo taken after the victory over McGregor.
Poirier was stronger than McGregor in the main fight of UFC 257 on January 24. The American ended the fight in the second round by TKO. The fight was not a title fight.
Poirier became the interim lightweight champion. In the fall of 2019, he fought for the title with the Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov, but lost.
