Podcaster Lex Friedman to Record Interview with Putin

A well-known American podcaster believes that now is the third opportunity since the full-scale invasion to conclude a peace agreement in Ukraine.

American podcaster Lex Friedman, who recently conducted a three-hour interview with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, announced his intention to go to Russia for the same conversation with Vladimir Putin.

He said this on Joe Rogan's podcast, which was broadcast on YouTube on Wednesday, January 22.

At the same time, Friedman did not specify whether he managed to reach any agreements on a conversation with the Russian president.

The Kremlin has not yet commented on his statement about the interview with Putin.

“I understand the risks, I accept the risks, and my goal is simply to achieve peace, to make my small contribution to achieving peace,” Friedman explained his motivation.

At the same time, he noted that, in his opinion, after the full-scale invasion in February 2022, there were three opportunities to conclude a peace agreement: in March-April 2022, when Ukrainian forces defended Kyiv; in the fall of the same year after the successful counteroffensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkiv region; and the third has come now, when Donald Trump, who seeks to “end all wars,” became the US president.

Friedman emphasized that the new US president is “a great candidate to make peace, because they all believe that Trump can do some crazy f*ck.”

Recall that earlier, podcaster Lex Friedman criticized President Volodymyr Zelensky for criticizing Vladimir Putin in his interview on January 6.
