Two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko spoke about the refusal of coach Eteri Tutberidze to let the skater Alena Kostornaya go to him. His words are quoted by Sport24 with reference to the Pirouette magazine.
Plushenko said that going to the academy was Kostornaya's deliberate choice. “For three weeks she did not train in the old group. They didn’t want to let her go, ”the coach said, adding that because of this, the athlete lost her form and was not ready for test skates.
