Plushenko spoke about moving to St. Petersburg and living in a communal apartment

Two-time Olympic champion in figure skating Evgeni Plushenko told Tatler about the living conditions at the beginning of his sports career.

Plushenko remembered how the ice arena closed in Volgograd, and in 1993 he was forced to move to St. Petersburg, where he began training under the leadership of Alexei Mishin. He added that after training, he collected bottles with his mother, since they were limited in finances.
