Sony will launch a cinema for PlayStation users. This is reported by the VGC edition.

Journalists of the publication found a banner and a description of the PlayStation Plus Video Pass service on the Polish PlayStation website. The post said that the new service has become available for a limited time to PS Plus subscribers. It was clarified that the subscription is valid for a year – from April 22, 2021 to April 22, 2022. After paying attention to the video service, Sony closed the corresponding section on the site.

According to experts, with the launch of its own online cinema, Sony intends to increase the value of the PlayStation Plus subscription and impose stronger competition on the Xbox Game Pass service. The authors contacted Sony Interactive Entertainment for comment, but the company ignored the request.

Also on the closed site, mention was found of three films that will be available in a subscription at the start – Venom, Bloodshot and Zombieland. All titles were shot by Sony Cinematography.

Third-party video services are currently available on Sony set-top boxes that allow you to watch movies and TV series by subscription through your console. These include Netflix, Disney +, Apple TV.

Earlier it became known that Sony is going to port a number of gaming exclusives to smartphones. The company has already begun looking for a top executive to head the new division at PlayStation Studios.
