Users of the new generation Sony set-top box told about problems with the proprietary controller. This is reported by the Kotaku edition.
According to the publications of PlayStation 5 users on Reddit found by journalists, problems with the complete DualSense gamepad arise some time after the purchase of the console. The drift sticks described by the owners of the consoles leads to an incorrect controller reaction to user touches or spontaneous operation of the gamepad. In particular, one of the PS5 owners reported that he noticed the problem less than 10 days after purchasing the console.
Another Reddit visitor demonstrated the DualSense issue on video. Judging by the video, serious stick drift leads to false positives during launch in various games, in particular Destiny 2. According to the feedback from gamers, the problem cannot be fixed either by disabling and re-enabling Bluetooth, or by rebooting the controller.
Reporters linked the DualSense problems with problems found with Nintendo Switch controllers right after the console went on sale. Then the users of the console complained about the drift of the complete Joy-Con joysticks. In 2019, Nintendo acknowledged the problem with the gamepads and promised free repairs to users of the device. It is currently unknown if the reported issues are related to the Nintendo Switch and PS5.
Journalists recommended that PlayStation 5 owners contact Sony and issue a warranty repair or return. Sony representatives confirmed in a conversation with the publication that the DualSense drift issue is covered by the warranty.
Problems with the PS5 gamepad became known at the end of 2020. According to players, problems are being observed with DualSense adaptive triggers. Journalists have counted more than a thousand complaints about problems with the PlayStation 5 branded controller.
