Britain's Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps said he was taking swift action to identify and land the plane, which is suspected of possible ties to Russia Federation that attacked Ukraine.
– Today I took swift action to identify and land another aircraft pending inquiries about possible links to Russia. We continue to take decisive action against Putin and his illegal war in Ukraine,” Shapps wrote on his Twitter page on March 19.
Recall, on March 9 it became known that Britain decided to tighten aviation sanctions against Russia and allowed Russian aircraft to be detained in the country and deleted from the British register.
Russian aircraft are prohibited from flying in British airspace, this restriction applies to “any aircraft owned, operated or chartered by anyone associated with Russia or sanctioned individuals or entities” .
Violation of this prohibition is considered a criminal offense.
