In Canada, a plane caught fire after hitting the runway with its wing runway.
This is reported by CBC.
An Air Canada flight made an emergency landing in Halifax, during which the plane skidded off the runway and caught fire.
The cause of the incident was a problem with the landing gear.
“We heard a pretty loud thump as the wing of the plane started to skid along with what I assume was the engine,” passenger Nikki Valentine said.
After the plane came to a stop, passengers noticed a fire on the left on board and smoke in the cabin. The evacuation of passengers took about two minutes.
Recall that a passenger plane with 181 people on board crashed during landing at an airport in South Korea. Two people survived, the rest most likely died. So far, 179 fatalities have been officially confirmed.
The plane was almost completely destroyed by the explosion. Only its tail can be recognized. The fire service assumes that the causes of the accident may be a collision with a bird and bad weather, but this is still being investigated.
