Congressional delay in making a decision on military assistance to Kiev could hamper US economic interests.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius called on the US to provide additional military aid to Ukraine, which is “stuck” in Congress. He warned of the consequences of refusing to support Kyiv.

Boris Pistorius noted that if left unchecked, the Kremlin's aggression could not only damage security cooperation and damage American defense contractors, but also weaken Europe as a whole, as well as disrupt the EU's trade relations with its largest economy world.
“One of the aspects of our transatlantic cooperation is that we have signed hundreds of contracts worth billions of dollars and are preparing new contracts. It is clear that NATO for the sake of security brings many benefits to both sides,” Pistorius noted.
He also warned about the consequences of Ukraine’s defeat not only for Europe, but also for the United States. Pistorius said the Russian invasion poses a threat to the “rules-based international order.”
“Geographically, Europe is a long way from (the states of) Iowa or Wisconsin, but it is still very close in terms of security policy. Less security in Europe means less security for the United States,” he said.
The German Defense Minister spoke not to take freedom for granted, because, he added, it must be defended and fought for if necessary.
He also stressed that European countries provide more weapons to Ukraine and said that he sees allies increasingly helping Kyiv.
“The UK is doing more, France is increasing its support. I am absolutely confident that we can achieve significant support over the next months and years. But of course it is not easy. The money is not unlimited,” Pistorius added .
Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, during the Munich Security Conference, answered the question of why Germany does not supply Taurus missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, he provided a general answer, saying that Germany spends more money on weapons for Ukraine after the United States.
