He found a river in the jungle and followed its course when he was spotted by a passing ship on September 27.
His plane was discovered two days later.
Recovering from the disaster, Muñoz da Silva returned to the air and continued his work, which led to his death.
The pilot will be buried in his hometown of Londrina, Paraná state.
