The sixth stage of the Biathlon World Cup has started in Ruhpolding, Germany. In men, the competition program was opened by a sprint.
The national team of Ukraine was represented by Dmitry Pidruchny, Anton Dudchenko, Artem Pryma, Bogdan Tsymbal and Artem Tishchenko.
The best result was demonstrated by Dmitry Pidruchny , who finished in the top 10 in seventh place. He made one mistake during the second shooting, but showed good speed.
Among other Ukrainians, Tsymbal was closest to the top ten, finishing in 17th place.
According to the results of the sprint, four Ukrainians were selected for the pursuit – Pidruchny, Tsymbal, Prima (22) and Dudchenko (26). Another Ukrainian Tishchenko became the 90th.
The victory in the sprint was won by the French biathlete Quentin Fillon-Maillet, the second place was taken by the German Benedikt Doll, the third finish went to Anton Smolsky from Belarus.
A day earlier, the women's sprint took place in Ruhpolding. Five Ukrainians took part in it: Julia Dzhima, Daria Blashko, Valentina Semerenko, Anastasia Merkushina and Irina Petrenko.
The best result among Ukrainians was shown by Yulia Dzhima, who took 37th place. At a distance of ten seconds from Jima, Petrenko finished in 41st position.
The winner of the race was the Swede Elvira Oeberg. At the finish line, she overtook Norway's Marte Olsby Røiseland, hitting all ten targets. Third place for the Italian Dorothea Wierer.
