Physicist Golubkin accused of transferring classified data to a Dutch scientist
Ivan Pavlov, the lawyer of the Russian scientist Valery Golubkin, said that his client is accused of transferring information to the project coordinator of the HEXAFLY-INT hypersonic liner Johan Stilant, reports TASS.
The lawyer notes that according to the investigation, in November 2018, Golubkin, at the direction of his boss, handed over the reports on the work done to the Dutch scientist. The Russian physicist did not collect information, but only helped to formalize it.
“The defense believes that Golubkin is not guilty in the transfer of reports, since he acted in accordance with the order of his immediate supervisor. The information in the reports concerned only HEXAFLY-INT, ”the lawyer said.
In April 2021, Golubkin was arrested under the treason article. The lawyer noted that earlier all documents had been received, which confirmed the absence of sensitive information in the reports.
“The defense insists that there is no corpus delicti in his actions. He does not admit guilt, ”concluded Pavlov.
Earlier it was reported that a citizen of Sweden was sentenced to a real term for espionage in favor of Russia.
