Philippines floods kill five people

Flooding in the Bicol region of the Philippines killed at least five people and went missing. Reported by the Philippines News Agency with reference to local authorities.

The authorities are investigating the circumstances of the death of the victims and conducting a search and rescue operation. The flooding in the Bicol region was caused by heavy rainfall. 189 people were evacuated from the region. There were also reports of 29 landslides.

According to the Ministry of Public Works and Roads, three of the national highways are not passable, while only one lane is passable on five roads.

In November 2020, one person was killed and three others were reported missing due to Typhoon Wamko, which struck the coast of the Philippines.
