The air temperature in St. Petersburg on Tuesday reached its maximum, the city sets a heat record for the fourth day in a row.
According to the chief specialist of the Phobos center, Mikhail Leus, by 14:00 the thermometer at the main meteorological station in St. Petersburg had reached 32.9 degrees. This is 0.4 degrees more than in 1917, when the maximum for June 22 was recorded the previous time.
“At the same time, the air masses will continue to warm up and the temperature will rise in the coming hours. Thus, the exact value of the new record maximum will be known after 21 hours, when readings from the maximum thermometers are taken,” added the forecaster.
“DP” earlier reported that on Tuesday the temperature is expected to rise to 35 degrees, in the Leningrad region the thermometer will rise to 36 degrees.
