St. Petersburg again overtook Moscow in the number of COVID-19 infections, 2075 new cases were detected in the city over the past day, according to the Telegram channel of the operational headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus infection.
A day earlier, 1958 cases of infection were registered in St. Petersburg. During the day, 66 deaths were recorded in the city.
In total, 25,907 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Russia over the past day. The total number of infected people in the country since the start of the pandemic has reached 10,267,719.
According to the headquarters, as of December 17, the rate of herd immunity to coronavirus in Russia exceeded 58 percent. 70,831,362 people were vaccinated with two components of the vaccine.
