Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov spoke about the sad associations associated with the collapse of the USSR, commenting on Tatyana Navka's ice show “Swan Lake”. His words are reported by TASS.
“I still belong to the generation that associates Swan Lake with unpleasant moments in our history,” he said, recalling that the ballet of the same name was shown on television during the August 1991 coup. Regarding the show itself, Peskov noted that he really likes it.
Earlier in December, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the collapse of the USSR was the collapse of “historical Russia.” He also noted that the collapse of the Soviet state was a tragedy both for him and for the overwhelming majority of the country's citizens.
