In the Luhansk region, Valery Hudz, the former commander of the 24th brigade named after King Danilo, died in a battle with Russian invaders on March 12.
– Yesterday, March 12, Valery Fedorovich Hudz died in the Luhansk region. He was not supposed to be there, but he decided to fight: he took command of the unit and, like a real hero, accepted the battle, – BF reports Come Back Alive.
He had the call sign 79, but he was often called simply – Fedorovi h.
Colonel Gudz is a native of Boryspil, since 2014 he has gone from platoon commander to battalion commander and brigade commander.
He was the commander of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danil (2017-2020). Then – a student of the National Defense University of Ukraine named after Chernyakhovsky. When the Russian Federation invaded Ukraine on February 24, he returned to the 24th brigade.
Awarded with the Order of Bogdan Khmelnytsky III degree (2015), the Order of the People's Hero of Ukraine (2017).
