The habit of adding large amounts of cream or milk to coffee can be harmful for people with high blood cholesterol, nutritionist Eleana Kaidanyan told Eat This, Not That.
“The saturated fat in cream and milk added to coffee every day (and usually many times a day) can affect a person's cholesterol levels,” she warned.
At the same time, the specialist added, high cholesterol does not have any symptoms, it is detected only with the help of tests. The indicators are affected by what kind of fats a person consumes on an ongoing basis.
Cranberry juice can positively display on the level of cholesterol, scientists from the University of Laval in Canada have found. In their opinion, this effect is due to the polyphenolic compounds contained in the berry.
In addition, the drink can also help normalize blood pressure. So, in the framework of 45 studies, it was found that, on average, systolic pressure in those who consumed this drink decreased by 1.52 millimeters of mercury, and diastolic – by 1.78 millimeters of mercury.
