People do not have time to hide: how to protect Kherson from constant shelling

by alex

The Russian invaders continue to mercilessly shell Kherson and kill civilians. Most people just don't have time to react.

There was an underground passage 50 meters away, but people did not have time to reach it. This was announced by Channel 24 First Deputy Chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Yuriy Sobolevsky.

The question of saving life

In Kherson, the issue of protective structures is very urgent. They must be installed so that from one it is possible to get to the next in a few seconds. According to the first deputy head of the Kherson Regional Council, about 60 such structures are planned to be installed in the near future. And the city is not going to stop there.

Of course, Sobolevsky notes, the installation of such structures is not a 100% guarantee of the safety of our people. But they should be everywhere – at public transport stops, near supermarkets and markets, and so on.

The more there are, the better. Even sandbags can save lives because debris is the main factor. We analyze every injury and see what our people suffer and die from,” Sobolevsky notes.

He is convinced that the city should concentrate its efforts on installing as many of these lightweight structures as possible. Today the authorities and volunteers are the only team. If the military administration sees a lack of resources to carry out this task, it should seek help from other areas. Sobolevsky added that the new head of the military administration took the issue of installing protective structures under his personal control.
