The Pentagon has evidence that North Korean troops are in Russia, but it is not yet known what exactly they are doing there.
About US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin told reporters in Rome on October 23.
Austin said Pentagon analysts are continuing to study the issue, and “we see evidence that North Korean troops have crossed (into) Russia.”
“What exactly they are doing remains to be seen. These are things that we need to figure out,” the defense minister added.
He noted that if the North Korean military intends to participate in a war against Ukraine, then this is a “very serious issue” that will have an impact not only in Europe, but also in the Indo-Pacific region.
