Pence allowed 25th amendment against Trump

by alex

US Vice President Mike Pence allows the 25th Amendment to the Constitution to remove President Donald Trump from power and wants to preserve this opportunity in case he becomes “more unstable.” This is reported by CNN, citing a source close to the vice president.

According to the channel's source, the possibility of using such an option against Trump became known this week.

Earlier, Democrats in Congress began preparations to impeach Donald Trump. Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has instructed the by-laws committee to be ready to initiate impeachment proceedings against the president. According to her, members of the lower house of Congress are hoping that Trump will immediately step down, but they will use any option to remove him from power.

The 25th Amendment to the US Constitution was adopted after the death of President John F. Kennedy. It provides for the possibility of removing the head of state in case of his incapacity, and also allows to resolve situations when the leader's illness or death does not allow him to either fulfill his duties or resign. Until the inauguration of the new head of state, the vice president will have to act as president.
