The “face” fare payment system expands the boundaries in the Moscow metro – the Face Pay program was connected to five more Moscow metro lines: Kalininskaya, Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line, Sokolnicheskaya line, Zamoskvoretskaya line, Serpukhovsko-Timiryazevskaya.
“Nine lines are now available for testing, in this regard, we are expanding the group of testers,” said the Moscow Department of Transport.
The developers say that Face Pay is stable and that the participants have no problems paying for travel. That is why the most popular Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line was connected.
“It is important that during the test, participants will be able to use the Early Time promotion to make a trip by metro cheaper – 23 rubles instead of 46,” said Maxim Liksutov, head of the Moscow Department of Transport.
How will Face Pay work?
To pay for the fare, the passenger will need to install the Moscow Metro mobile application, and the Face Pay button will become available in it. After attaching a bank card and adding a personal photo (you need to take a selfie), you can pay for travel at special turnstiles – already now, black stickers with the inscription “payment by biometrics” appear on the floor in front of them. The passenger needs to look into the camera for the system to “recognize” and let it pass. 46 rubles will be debited from the bank card.
The Face Pay system will become available to all passengers from October 15, but now only focus group participants can try “face” payment.

– in a few days (up to 7 days) a message will be sent to the mail with instructions and a link to download the Moscow Metro application,
– in the application you need to specify a name and take a selfie (without a headdress and glasses),

– payment of travel at the expense of the participant – each trip is 46 rubles,
– an important condition: you cannot tell about the test results in social networks and blogs.
