The secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that “in order to spread the ideas of terrorism, the possibilities of social networks are increasingly being used.”
– The virtual global space contributes to the formation of conspiratorial groups of supporters of terrorist activities, the emergence of new mechanisms for financing terrorist activities, – said Patrushev.
He added that the special services are increasingly recording the facts of financing terrorists, including from abroad.
Earlier, Anton Gorelkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, suggested monitoring “criminal intentions” on the Internet and social networks after the shooting at a Kazan school. He suggested creating a system that would track “malice” and “trigger phrases” on social networks and other sites. He said that the attacker had announced plans to attack the school on his Telegram channel.
