New air defense systems will help protect Ukrainian cities, civilians and military personnel.

Leaders of the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Romania announced that it would transfer to Ukraine an additional five strategic air defense systems Patriot and SAMP-T.

“Today we are announcing that we are jointly transferring additional strategic air defense systems to Ukraine, including additional Patriot batteries from the US Germany and Romania, Patriot components provided by the Netherlands and other partners to support another Patriot battery, and an additional SAMP-T system. , donated by Italy,” notes the document

The statement emphasizes that all five new strategic air defense systems will help protect Ukrainian cities, civilians and military personnel.

“We are working closely with the Ukrainian government to ensure these systems can be quickly deployed,” the statement said.

In addition, the country's leaders said that they are working to ensure that this year Ukraine receives dozens of tactical air defense systems, such as NASAMS, HAWK, IRIS T-SLM, IRIS T-SLS and Gepard.

Several NATO members, including Canada, Norway, Spain and the UK, will continue to play important roles in the transfer of these systems to Ukraine, and other partners will help provide interceptor missiles.

In addition, it is noted that the United States will be redistributed in the transfer of missiles for air defense systems to other countries in favor of Ukraine. This will allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to provide hundreds of missiles over the next year.

“We are committed to providing Ukraine with additional air defense capabilities as it defends against Russian aggression, including deliberate Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities and civilian and critical infrastructure,” the statement’s authors emphasized.

Recall that it was previously reported that the Patriot air defense system from Germany is already in Ukraine.
