Passengers jumped out of the cabin: Ryanair plane caught fire in Mallorca, there are casualties

by alex

Ryanair passengers at Mallorca airport fled along the plane's wings after a fire alarm sounded.

On the night of July 5, a fire alarm went off on a Ryanair plane at Palma de Mallorca Airport as it was preparing to take off for Manchester. Initially, a fire was reported in one of the engines, prompting the flight crew to announce an emergency evacuation.

BILD writes about this.

While rescuers and a fire brigade were arriving at the scene, panic began among the passengers – some people climbed onto the wings of the plane and jumped onto the runway. Others evacuated through inflatable ramps.

As a result of the incident, 18 people were injured, 6 of whom were hospitalized with minor injuries – mainly sprains and bruises.

Ryanair later said the fire had not been confirmed and the alarm had been a false alarm. However, the airline apologised to passengers for the experience.

“The flight from Palma to Manchester was aborted due to a faulty fire alarm. Passengers were evacuated using inflatable slides. We regret the situation and promptly provided another aircraft,” the Ryanair press service reported.

The new flight departed for Manchester at 07:05 a.m. The technical causes of the incident are currently being investigated.

Let us recall that earlier we wrote about a piece of a wing being torn off a plane belonging to a well-known airline in flight.
