President Donald Trump has been informed of the plane crash.
In USA A PSA Airlines plane collided with a Sikorsky H-60 helicopter while landing at Washington airport and crashed in river.
This was reported by CNN.
The Bombardier CRJ700 was reportedly flying American Airlines Flight 5342 from Kansas to Washington.
The collision occurred at 8:53 p.m. local time.
Following reports of the crash, flights at Reagan International Airport were grounded by the Federal Aviation Administration.
D.C. police said they were coordinating search and rescue efforts in the river Potomac.
Airlines said there were 60 passengers on board, as well as 4 crew members, their fate is still unknown.
The plane is reported to have collided with a military helicopter.

“Many agencies are currently working on this episode, both federal and local law enforcement are working together on the ground to try to save as many lives as possible. And the president will continue to monitor this situation,” White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt told FOX News, urging the public to remain calm.
