Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed with the President of the Republic Armen Sarkissian the internal political situation, as well as the holding of early parliamentary elections.
“The President and the Prime Minister discussed the situation in the country, steps aimed at improving the internal political atmosphere, touched upon the holding of early parliamentary elections,” Pashinyan's press service said in a statement.
It is noted that the parties stressed the need for free and fair elections, including “by improving the Constitution and the legislative framework.”
Earlier, Pashinyan announced early elections to the Armenian parliament, scheduled for June 20.
