Paralympic Games in Tokyo will be held without spectators
Spectators will not be able to attend the Paralympic Games in Tokyo due to the difficult epidemiological situation in the country, RIA Novosti reports.
The organizing committee of the Games recalled that a state of emergency has been declared in the prefectures of Tokyo, Saitama and Chiba due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fans are also discouraged from attending outdoor events.
“We hope you understand that these measures are inevitable and are being applied to prevent the spread of the infection. We urge everyone to watch the Games at home, ”the message says.
The Paralympic Games in the Japanese capital will be held from August 24 to September 5. The Russian delegation to the Paralympics included 432 people, including 242 athletes.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin talked with members of the national Paralympic team. The head of state expressed confidence that the Russian Paralympians, after the unfair dismissal in 2016, this time will demonstrate their skills.
