A young Pakistani politician, Mohammed Zakriya Khan, was accidentally shot and killed during a holiday in his honor. He was killed by a bullet fired into the air by supporters in honor of his election. Pakistani TV channel SAMAA TV reported about it.

The incident took place in Pakistan, in the Peshawar district. Political supporters of Zakriya Khan opened fire from a machine gun in honor of his victory in the elections. One of the bullets fired into the air accidentally hit the deputy.

Mohammed Zakriya Khan Sandai was to become the chairman of the seven-person village council in Surizai village.

One of the reasons for the incident was the widespread use of small arms among the population of the Middle East. The possession of a weapon is considered a sign of strength and influence. It is widely used not only for the purposes of protection and self-defense, but also for the weapon greeting of guests as a custom.

Firearm incidents are not uncommon. Earlier, a resident of the American Norristown, Pennsylvania, was killed by a stray bullet that flew through a window during a family dinner in honor of Thanksgiving. The bullets were fired during a personal conflict between the deceased's neighbors.
