Toni upholstery

Austria icon Toni Polster did not last with his criticism of the top of the club behind the mountain. Now the 57-year-old sees himself confirmed.

On Tuesday, the “Veilchen” were denied the Bundesliga license for the 2021/22 season in the first instance for financial reasons. It was no surprise for Austria insiders.

Not even for upholstery. “Now it is a sad certainty that Austria did not get a license,” said Polster in a short Instagram video. Now the Viennese have until April 21st to submit the missing documents. “I hope that succeeds. Our Austria must not die, our Austria must continue to live, our Austria must not be relegated,” was the appeal of the violet icon.

Should the license be granted in the second attempt, that would not solve the problems of the favorites, as Polster warned. “Even if the money comes from the alleged investor, the mountain of debt remains,” said the 57-year-old with a view to Austria's liabilities of 78 million euros.

“I see very, very black, I get scared and worried about my Austria. I hope that everything will somehow go well,” concluded Polster. April 27th will show whether the survival of the club is assured when the “Veilchen” are granted the license.
