43 MEPs voted for the adoption of the resolution.

Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe ( PACE) today, October 13, recognized Russia as a dictatorship. The Assembly also called on all states of the Council of Europe not to recognize the legitimacy of President Vladimir Putin upon the expiration of his current term.

This was announced by Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.

” “I welcome the powerful resolution of PACE, which recognizes Russia as a dictatorship. More than 20 years of one-man unconstitutional rule leads to crimes inside and outside the country. PACE also called on all states of the Council of Europe to recognize Putin as illegitimate after the end of his current term,” the message says.

PACE also made a number of important statements, in particular, about the process of amending the Constitution of the Russian Federation, which allowed Putin to remain in power until 2036. The Assembly recognized that the overwhelming power of the Russian President and the absence of a system of checks and balances have turned the country into a de facto dictatorship.

43 MEPs voted for the adoption of the resolution.

Recall that on Tuesday, October 3 , the Armenian parliament ratified the Rome Statute, obliging the implementation of decisions of the International Criminal Court, including the arrest of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
