Primhydromet: the owners of the iced foreign cars arriving in Vladivostok will receive compensation
Owners of foreign cars who arrived in Vladivostok with a thick layer of ice, forecasters will issue a certificate that their cars have suffered from a dangerous natural phenomenon called “rapid icing”. So they can get compensation for damage to the car. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Primhydromet.
“Such certificates will help with compensation for damages and are legitimate when presented to insurance companies, judicial authorities and so on. To issue a certificate, you must fill out an application on the website www.primgidromet.ru in the “Services” section – “The procedure for obtaining information about weather conditions upon request,” Primgidromet reported.
Dry cargo ship Sun Rio arrived from Busan in bad weather. On the way, the cars were covered with a thick crust of ice, and the superstructures on the deck and sides of the ship were also iced up. The vessel is moored at the berth of the port of Vladivostok, experts are unloading icy vehicles. Some cars have broken windows.

At the end of December, a storm warning was announced in Primorye due to an abnormal cold snap. On December 25, in Vladivostok, a record was recorded in the entire history of observations – the thermometer dropped below 26 degrees, and in the suburbs of the city – below 30 degrees.
“Simultaneously with a decrease in temperatures on land in the Sea of Japan, the wind intensified and a wave rose, which in turn provoked“ rapid icing of ships, ”the Primhydromet said.
Earlier it was reported that expansion joints at the Rudnevsky bridge in Vladivostok parted, due to which a crack formed on it in the entire roadway. As the experts explained, the crack appeared due to abnormally cold weather.
