Our Radars Are Powerless: Moldova Admits It Can't Shoot Down Russian Drones

According to the country's defense minister, the drones are equipped in a way that prevents them from being detected by Moldova's radars.

Moldova's existing radars can identify drones flying over their territory drones.

This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Moldova Anatolie Nosatyi, Realitatea reports.

He commented that the drone that was found on November 19 near a shopping center in Chisinau is similar to those found earlier.

“This is a drone similar to others found in recent weeks. It is obvious that it is part of the same raid that took place en masse on November 10,” the Moldovan Minister of Defense says.

According to him, the drones are equipped with equipment that does not allow them to be detected by radars, which are available in Moldova.

“I just want to note that the equipment (of the drones – (ed.) It actually doesn't allow itself to be detected by the radars we have in service. They also have a fairly small reflective surface. These drones have a range of 1000-1300 kilometers, so they have the ability to cross the territory of Ukraine from the launch site,” Nosatyi said.

He clarified that the radars currently in service with the Moldovan army date back to the 1960-1980s and were intended for a completely different type of war.

Recall that two Russian decoy drones recently fell in Moldova. President Maia Sandu assured that the drones found on Moldovan territory do not pose a danger to citizens.

Earlier, military expert Oleg Zhdanov explained why Moldova does not shoot down Russian missiles, violating its airspace.
