Austria's sports director Manuel Ortlechner has had busy days. In the coming week there should be new additions to the “Veilchen”.
The weak points in the purple squad are obvious. With Christian Schoissengeyr and Johannes Handl, there are only two seasoned central defenders in the Austria squad. This will probably also require reinforcements on the offensive.
When asked about newcomers on the fringes of the first-round match in the ÖFB Cup against Spittal / Drau, Ortlechner smiled tellingly on the “ORF”: “We'll see that next week. We're already doing our jobs. The team only needs reinforcements occasionally.”
