Jordan Henderson's chest will soon be adorned with an order of knights

The two English national soccer players Jordan Henderson and Raheem Sterling are honored with the British Order of Knights. 30-year-old Henderson receives the “Member of the British Empire” (MBE) award for special service to football and charity during the coronavirus pandemic. Sterling (26) is recognized for his work for equality and against racism in sport. The MBE is the lowest of the five levels of the order.

Henderson, captain of Liverpool FC, is committed to supporting the National Health Service (NHS), among other things. “I dedicate my award to all the nurses, doctors, carers, administrators, cleaners, security guards, and everyone who dedicates their lives and careers to making the NHS the part of British life we are rightly proud of” said the midfielder.

Manchester City attacker Sterling has set up a foundation for underprivileged children, among other things. “If I can change a life or two as a result, I've achieved a lot. If you want to change something, you have to start with yourself,” said the winger. England will face Croatia at the European Championships on Sunday.
