The Hungarian Prime Minister believes that Russia does not pose a threat to NATO countries.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who is known for his support of Russian President Putin, said upon arrival at the NATO summit in The Hague that he sees it as his task to prevent Ukraine from joining the Alliance.
The statement of the Hungarian Prime Minister is quoted by European Pravda.
“NATO has no business in Ukraine. Ukraine, like Russia, is not a member of NATO, and my task is to keep it that way,” Orban said.
The Hungarian Prime Minister also added that, in his opinion, Russia does not pose a threat to NATO countries.
“I don't think that Russia poses any real threat to NATO. Because we are much stronger,” Viktor Orban explained his point of view, which does not coincide with the opinion of the majority of NATO member state leaders.
At the same time, he noted that for some reason, NATO summit declarations “constantly recall” the Russian threat.
Let us recall that Orban considers the loss of competition in terms of the economy, but not security, to be the “real” threat to Europe.
